So hearing it in song hurts tenfold.
Or: Geralt hears 'Burn Butcher Burn' - it hurts him, in more ways than one. When he regains Jaskier's companionship he doesn't want to lose him again, or ruin it by mentioning it. They don't talk about it. Until they do.

After several weeks of being secretive, only being able to sneak kisses on occasion, and pretty much no sex, the boys finally have a brilliant idea. The dungeon! It’s soundproof, in a corner of the bunker where Mary almost never goes, and therefore perfect. Except that just because Mary almost never goes to that corner of the bunker, doesn’t mean she never goes there.
