Suddenly, Wilbur’s house is illuminated by a bright, blinding flash of light, followed by nothing but pure darkness. Meanwhile, the small beige couch where the two men sat conversing is completely empty, neither of them anywhere to be spotted. At least, not during this timeline.
Or, a conversation between Dream and Wilbur about their regrets leads to them getting sent back in time with the opportunity to mend broken relationships and fix the mistakes they've made.

He couldn't breathe. Inside his chest his lungs were a blistering fire, screaming out for air in piercing, ear blistering voices, but he couldn't breathe. He couldn't he couldn't he couldn't he couldn't. But there's a point you get in panic; where even if you can't breathe yourself, your body will force itself to take air in so you won't pass out. An instinctual measure, hardwired for survival.
As such, you'll choke and gasp on the air your body forces down, still unable to really, truly breathe, but forced to drink in the oxygen necessary for survival. Coming out in little gasps and chokes and light hitches-hyperventilation. The air not truly reaching your lungs because no matter what your body says, you still can't breathe, but it fights its hardest because what is a human if not a fighter?
You feel like you're dying and there's nothing you can do but sit there, trembling, in your head screaming, as your chest rapidly rises and falls, still fighting for the air of your shallow intakes. Despite your body's best attempts, you can still pass out in this stage because more so than a fighter, a human is stubborn.
