He hadn’t been touched in so long that he found the sensation curious, and he was drawn to it so he began to follow the feeling. A voice, strained and frightened but still gentle, reached his ears. Instead of flinching away he sought more of it; the melodic tones were like a balm to his senses the same way the Fog was.

    Geralt is a Witcher, and also the last Sentinel. He has no need for a young, foolish bard who discovers his secret and wants nothing more than to help him. Witchers walk alone, or so he tells himself. He doesn’t need help, and he doesn’t want Jaskier. He doesn’t.

    Jaskier is a half succubus, half naiad abomination, the only of his kind that he or anyone else knows of. Due to the cruelty of humans, he’s bound to serve Aedirn royalty. They send him on a mission to kill a witcher: Geralt the White Wolf whose school is funded by Kaedwen royalty, as is common in this universe. He’s being rewarded for being a particularly successful pet monster-slayer with a banquet in his honor and a night with a beautiful songbird. Nothing goes according to plan and the two end up more or less (unhappily) stuck with each other in the midst of a potential war.
    This is not a fluffy love story and Geralt and Jaskier are both a bit of a dick.
    Note: tags will likely update as the fic progresses.

    Note about rape/non-con tag: There is a lot of extremely dubious consent in this one pertaining to the fact Jaskier is a succubus with charming abilities. Although he doesn’t exactly force anyone to sleep with him, he charms partners into not noticing what he is, telling him their desires, and then forgetting about him. This can be considered non-con, so please be cautious choosing to read. ❤️

    He doesn’t know how long he stands there, unable to tear himself away. He watches, and yearns, and only returns to his initial task when Yen snuffles and burrows further into Jaskier, his arms tightening around her even in sleep. It’s not his place to intrude.

    Or: Jaskier and Yennefer keep joking about being married. Except from the outside, it doesn’t look like they’re joking.
