"Apparently" is pretty dubious because Obito was not exactly born but more like spat out of death's stomach with absolutely no idea of what to do next.

Summary
Gregory, a now fully grown adult returns to his father's old workplace, Playtime Co.
Playtime Co. was a toy factory owned by Gregory's grandfather, who also happened to be the founder. Playtime Co. focused on making kids smile.
Everyone in there had dissapeared when Gregory was still a child, even his dad. So why is he going there? Because he hopes that even after all these years, his father is still alive, hiding, trapped in the long forgotten and abandoned factory. But danger stalks in every corner. History seems to repeat itself, as the monsters now lurking in the Playtime Co.'s empty hallways mistake Gregory for his father, who had been mistaken for his father during the hour of joy. Will Gregory survive each murderous toy and their horrifying games? Will Gregory escape in one piece? And most importantly, will Gregory find his father? What caused the hour of joy?

Summary
The Smiling Critter’s Cartoon Exists as a separate reality created by some freaky technology conjured in the Innovations Department for Playtime Co. Playtime Co. is able to use their advanced technology to extract the souls of these characters from this universe to use as the life force for their Bigger Bodies Initiative. Catnap’s soul, the weakest and most dormant, does not provide enough life to the character. Not wanting to scrap the project or face the profit losses of losing Catnap, An A.I. implant created by the Prototype is put into the BBI Catnap to stimulate higher level brain functions, drastically altering his personality. The Prototype uses his control over Catnap to execute the Hour of Joy. Once a Smiling Critter’s corporeal form is deceased, their soul is returned to their original universe, as if nothing ever happened, only left with the traumatic memories of the past. Catnap, despite not being in control of his body, also retains his memories.

Something goes wrong. The crown is split during Narinder's defeat, splitting the power between him and the Lamb.
Narinder keeps a portion of his godhood, and the Lamb finds that abilities they had access to before are no longer possible: Healing is cut short. Powers are halved. And there is a very real chance of permadeath, as the ability to resurrect is not possible without full power, and the God of Death is not cooperative.
Afterlife and Purgatory are not options either. Dying means erasure. Gone.Lambert knows Narinder grows stronger by the day, crown or not, and yet keeps him spared as they try to figure out how to complete their own goals. Narinder vows vengeance on the lamb for usurping him. After a few unsuccessful murder attempts, he's in for the long haul. It is only a matter of time before the Lamb's guard is down before he can strike, and The One Who Waits is very patient. When a mystic being demands they save the bishops from purgatory, an alliance is in order.
Except...the lamb's actions and their presence begin to unlock abilities within the God of Death he didn't know he had prior to his imprisonment, among other fickle things, like emotions. The prophecy didn't warn him of that part.
