Summary
TOMMY was convinced that getting his name called for the games was a death sentence. That is until his district partner, Dream, steps in with an ambitious plan that could mean not only prolong their survival, but also carve their path to victory.
WILBUR was the son of Victors: he knew how these games worked, knew it wasn't the "luck of the draw" that his name got called. But with enough faith and motivation, a hastily-strung-together ragtag group of children can hold their own against a group of trained killers, right?
PURPLED never planned to be fighting his own brother in the Games, but planning rarely ever mattered to the Capitol, and one of them had to die. After all, victory was the only thing that mattered to District One. He just never thought he'd be relying on a gambler, a clever fox, a clueless sidekick, and a victor's son to do so.

Tommy's death was a tragedy, but it hurt no one more than Sam, the warden who believed that he could have saved him – yet there's only so much he can do when the boy's murderer is already under lock and key. And Dream, far from fazed by the blood on his hands, continues to taunt the world outside his cell with the dark knowledge no one believes he possesses.
Sam believes he may be telling the truth, for once, but bending to his prisoner's wishes is definitely not a path he's ready to go down.
Not yet, at least.
Through all of this, more trials and tribulations start to arise, involving the likes of Ranboo, a sweet but forgetful enderman hybrid with a memory book that might bring about more trouble than he thinks; Captain Puffy, a washed-up sea captain whose fight against a mess of demonic tendrils only leads to more conflicts; and a silent phantom who only wants one thing: peace.

I didn't agree with the shortness of Tommy's final death in canon, here's a 1000+ page, self-indulgent fic I wrote in retaliation.

Charlie slowly returned to awareness, and the first thing he noticed was how… wrong everything felt. His body felt far too wet, far too numb. He tried to raise an arm, feeling it bend at an unnatural angle as it made a horrible squelching noise. Whatever the sheep guy had done to him, it definitely didn’t seem like much of a prize.
