Recently Charlotte “Charlie” Emily, college graduate daughter of famed entrepreneur Henry Emily, has been suffering from some debilitating nightmares, the result of a pretty nasty fire in her apartment and nothing sinister. In these silly dreams she’s always undead, possessing a marionette from the early 1980s, tasked with freeing the souls of children murdered by her godfather, William Afton. Now, her therapist always tells her that trauma manifests in strange ways, such as nightmares she can only remember the basics of, and that Charlie shouldn’t get lost in them. After a particularly rough one regarding a fire, Charlie thanks her lucky stars that she has her best friend Jessica and a new job working security for the Fazbear Funpark just outside of her home town to keep her grounded in reality. At least it isn’t something silly like the dreams being her real memories of reality fighting to break through the barrier of a virtual hellscape designed by an entity called Glitchtrap specifically to torment her! Where did that idea even come from?
(This is set in an alternate timeline that diverges after the events of Help Wanted)
