Summary
Ingo and Emmet have never been human, though they pull it off rather well during the day. At night though they let themselves be their true selves. They are pretty good at hiding it from the rest of the world, only ever looking slightly off. That changes though when they encounter Volo, who for unknown reasons has turned into a monster himself. The two take him in, out of free he will break their masquerade, at least until he gets the hang of his new body. Volo however is not handling the change well and Emmet has become personally invested in his progress.

The Kryn Dynasty and the Cerberus Assembly both suspect there is information in the ruins of Aeor that could cause civil war among the dens. The Dynasty would like to make it disappear. The Assembly wants nothing more than to get their hands on it.
Vurmus Outpost researchers are slowly disappearing, and Essek Thelyss is not believed as dead as he would like.
He's already sacrificed everything else—all that's left to save his own skin is to shed it.

MK’s been through a lot while training under Monkey King. But time travel was a whole new level of weird. After an incident he couldn’t quite remember, he was blasted back to after the Spider Queen defeat. Everything was different in this timeline. He apparently didn’t exist in this world! Which meant everyone was different- Mei was prim and proper, and Wukong was out of retirement!
Worst part was, he was one of the only ones who remembered the original timeline. The only other two being Macaque (who he must unfortunately team-up with), and Lady Bone Demon.
Speaking of her, she has some sort of obsession with him in this world. Rather than actively trying to kill MK, she’s trying to get him to switch sides. She wants him to join her, something about “destiny.”
All of this is so confusing and it makes his head pound. Not to mention, Macaque is unhelpful as ever, yet he can’t turn to anyone else. He’s completely alone in another world, with his memory is scrambled. So... this should be “fun”, working with an uncooperative villain to save the world.

Nora had spent the vast majority of her life on Homeworld. There was a short period that she spent on Earth, but that had more to deal with interacting and helping the gems there than it did anything else. If she ever wanted human interaction, she would have to go to the human zoo that her mother had created long ago.
Even after she had finally got White, Yellow, and Blue Diamond to listen to her, they we're still tyrants. Things were only a little better for humans and things didn't get better for the vast majority of gems. The only few that had some semblance of freedom were the gems on her own personal court, but that wasn't very many.
Even after everything, even when they finally came to an understanding of some sort, Nora wasn't really a ruler. She was just a face that people could look at and look up to with no actual deeds behind it.
And then she wakes up in some strange box. With more humans gathered in one space than she's seen in a lifetime. She had somehow come to another world filled to the brim with life other than gems. With a world that was rich with natural resources. For once, she thinks she understood how her mother felt. But she needed to get home.
