Summary
Ilya Rozanov is the cocky CEO of a booming Russian real estate company in Ottawa. Millionaire, playboy and self-proclaimed philanthropist. He is also still dealing with the death of his mother and seeing his therapist regularly. But nobody needs to know that.
Shane Hollander is an ambitious teacher-in-training who has had to put his life on hold since his father's Parkinson's diagnosis. He moves back to Ottawa, and gets a job at Rozanov Inc. as their head data analyst (much to his chagrin).
But Ilya uses Shane for everything *but* data analysis. He calls him at 2am just because he wants to speak, or to ask him what tie he should wear at work the next day.
Shane gets fed up. But he just can't stay away, for reasons he isn't up for acknowledging just yet.

Summary
Stede Bonnet, a successful history journalist & archeologist, is travelling to NYC for a 2 week conference. Much to his annoyance, he is sat next to the most insufferable man on his flight, who spilled coffee over his best satin shirt.
Turns out Stede judges people too quickly.

On the very first day of high school, the 13 year old boy who sat in front of me in English class, the one with the dark, curled hair cascading down his neck, stopping at his shoulders, turned around to me and said:
“Wanna hang out behind the greenhouse at break-time?”
