  1. Summary

Crowley cast his eyes around the tiny room despairingly. He had obviously already followed this line of reasoning to its natural conclusion, as well, even though he likely was very drunk by the time he got there. There was no way for him to go to Heaven, of course, and with Gabriel now hunting Aziraphale on Earth, the only remaining option was Hell. But it wasn’t exactly a good option.

“So you do know me,” Aziraphale said. “That young person called me a strange name.”

“Aziraphale,” Crowley said. “That’s your name. We’re…friends."

    Summary

Philosophers liked to pose the question, observation against perception: If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?

Aziraphale would argue that sound was something witnessed, and Crowley would argue that if sound had to be witnessed, then why was virtue unwitnessed a nobler thing?

But first, Crowley would point out that he himself had fallen, alone and without witness, and it had bloody fucking hurt.

    ---------------

Or, in the aftermath of the Antichrist debacle, Heaven has other plans than Hellfire, and Aziraphale gives away his halo.

(In which Season 2 is part of a time loop, London's Angel Station is highly questionable, and Aziraphale takes Crowley's memories. Written for the Ineffable Idiots Big Bang.)

    Summary

Crowley hums. “You’re the absolute picture of piety, angel,” he assures absently, fondly. The sharp cut of his figure pushes off the pillar. “Enough that I need to find an improper den of iniquity to wash it all off. If you’ll excuse me—”

Aziraphale feels a flare of—something at that. Something he doesn’t bother giving a name to, quite intentionally so.
