Summary
Three monumental things happened in 1990:
Firstly, Fleamont and Euphemia Potter put their foot down and forced their son James to marry a witch they approved of.
Secondly, Albus Dumbledore decided to try one last time to hire a Divination Professor.
Thirdly, a witch called Lily Evans developed a counter for the Imperius Curse.
But as far as Harry Evans was concerned, nearly two decades later and half a world away, none of these events had anything to do with his life. He was just trying to get by as an Ilvermorny graduate and single teen father in a dangerous world. He’s got bigger problems than magical civil wars on the other side of the planet.
Albus Dumbledore, however, would disagree. With the resurrection of the Dark Lord Voldemort, all eyes have turned to a prophecy predicting a wizard who would be the Dark Lord’s downfall. The nation’s hopes rested on James Potter’s son Nate, famous for surviving the unsurvivable and killing the Dark Lord as a baby seventeen years previously. But as the only person to have heard the full prophecy, Dumbledore was uncertain. And his search for the real savior keeps drawing him back to a little boy everyone assumed was a squib.

He drifted through the halls of Grimmauld Place silently, spending almost all of his time between the four walls of his room. Unlike Sirius, who got all of his parent’s attention, both good and bad, Regulus could go for lengths of time without being spoken to. He tested it, to see how long he could go before he was remembered, and it was always invariably Sirius who found him and spoke to him.
He learned to fade into the background. When he was silent, his mother didn’t reprimand him with sharp slaps and sharper words. A ghost cannot be hit, cannot be hurt."

Summary
The first two nights, Harry sleeps like the dead— or, well, maybe that's not the best comparison, given the number of inferi attacks reported lately.
He sleeps like a log. Like a dead log. An un-re-animated dead log. From an everyday, inanimate, non-whomping tree.
After that, Harry wakes up screaming more nights than not, and he even cries on the bad ones, which makes James cry too. In this regard, James reckons that his first week of parenting a full-grown teenage adult bears an awful lot of resemblance to parenting a newborn baby. He feels both blessed and terrifyingly out of his depth.

Summary
Here's what happened. James and Lily had died to protect their son. They had done it all for Harry, did everything they could to ensure his safety and happiness. All for Albus to dump him at Petunia's where he was neglected and abused.
Lily had seen it, sort of. The afterlife was weird like that. You could watch your living loved ones but not directly. It wasn't like turning on the telly and watching their lives. It was more of a feeling with flashes of memories. She could feel her son's pain, his confusion, his fear, his hopelessness. Every once in a while she could see him too, locked up in his little cupboard, not bothering to cry because he knew that tears would only bring more pain. She could feel his hunger, his desperation. It was eating her alive... Well... Not alive. That was the problem.
The afterlife was supposed to bring them peace, it was supposed to be their final resting place, but Lily couldn't rest, not when Harry was wasting away in some dark hole and nobody was doing anything to fix it.
She was his mother, and she was going to fix it. And if that ment dragging her husband and their new friend back through the veil to the land of the living, then so be it.

“No courting unless it’s your promised suitor,” Orion Black says, taking a seat across from his sons.
“Can we focus on me for a moment, please?” Sirius presses, pouting slightly. “Marlene’s pure-blood! And she’s gorgeous. Isn’t the point that we ‘grow our ranks’ or something? I am the only boy in school not dating.”
“Your brother doesn’t date.”
“And I have no intention of starting,” comes Regulus’ quick and finite reply.
Orion nods, as though this should be all the convincing Sirius needs. “Remind me why?”
“Have you seen the unwashed miscreants that go to that school?” he scoffs, finally closing his book.
“If I may interject,” Walburga lets herself into the room, an unnerving smile on her face that has sent stronger men than her husband and sons running for the hills. “May I propose an amendment: Sirius can date – when Regulus does.”
Sirius is up in arms instantly. “But he’s practically a dementor! What if he never dates?”
Walburga’s smile grows even more menacing, if possible. “Then, you’ll never date.”
