Alex doesn’t know what exactly he thought would happen, but he thought maybe Henry would at least acknowledge that he remembers him.
Prince Henry doesn’t look him in the eye. He smiles and looks at Alex for the photo ops, his teeth perfect, straight and white just like the rest of him — at least in the public eye. His grip is solid and sure, but Alex sees the half-second of hesitation before he allows himself to touch Alex, like he’s afraid.
Henry has been avoiding Alex — publicly and privately for years now. Ever since one very ill-advised hook-up that Alex could easily describe as fucking life-changing. Now, he has to spend a whole weekend with a guy that won't even look him in the eye, trying to sell the illusion that they've been friends for years.
That's bad enough, but things get so much worse once the weekend is over.
