“So, are you human or not?”
Connor found that to be an unfair question. His worn, standard issue android jacket and damaged-but-present LED made it clear he was an android. Of course, that wasn’t really what the human in front of him was asking. The striking familiar figure with long grey hair and a Saint Bernard dog at his side was asking Connor if he was deviant.
The answer was yes of course, but just because he was deviant didn’t mean he was human. Before Connor could make this point, the human spoke up again.
“Of course you are, you look too goofy to be one of those mindless machines.”
…Goofy?

A former version of Bucky would’ve liked to tell you he held out for a long time. That it took them a lot to break him and he was strong for years.that despite the beatings at random intervals, the torture, the attempts at wiping him, the mind altering drugs making him hallucinate and reform his own memories. But in reality it wasn’t very long at all.
He was never a good man. He was a good soldier.
And good soldiers can be made into even greater weapons.
Steven Grant Rogers. Man out of time, Captain america, saviour, relic.. lost. Steve would've liked to tell you he was faring well in this new age. That he was getting used to all the new tools and gadgets of this age and that he was functioning like a real person should. He isn't, stitched together by threads and falling apart at the seams he feels like if he can just drown himself in his job he might just be a man again.He was never a good soldier, he was a good man.
But good men can be turned into even greater soldiers.
