After saving Redania from a siege led by neighbouring Kaedwen, the Wolf School Witchers request to make their own independent country in the mountains. Twenty years later and it has a thriving trade in metalwork, and more and more Witchers are relocating to the welcoming land. The Redanians fear an invasion, and the Witchers fear a repeat of Kaedwen's pogroms if their neighbours feel too threatened.

Steve had not been opposed to the idea, rather the opposite, he found that he had spent a lot of time watching Eddie during those days, and he also found that he actually started to like him too
