  3. Summary

Because sometimes even I forget just how many challenge fics I've written. These are just the big bang/reverse bang collaborative fics that (should) come with artwork, because working with artists is wonderful. If I included all the fics I've written for various gift-exchanges/Secret Santas/fests, I'd have to put half my AO3 works in this collection.

Enjoy the stories and the gorgeous artwork!

    [ a post-Skyfall James Bond and Q-centric series ]

In which James Bond continues his work as a Double-O agent with a new reckless streak and Q is ever the voice in his earpiece, the supplier of his equipment and an anchor back to MI6.

This is a series of interconnected stories on the development of Bond and Q's relationship - as individuals and professionals who take note of and fixate on each other after the Silva incident, who grow close to each other in increments until they eventually become a very important feature in each other's lives. Duty - and soon after, trust - is what binds them.

    Love, possibly, comes after.

  5. Summary

The rules of engagement are different when the manifestation of your soul is capable of walking, talking and interacting with the world. Q and Estelle have always pushed boundaries as the Quartermaster team, while Bond and Bailey have never allowed anything – neither the rules nor the limits of the human-daemon bond – to bind them.

Together, they are a force to be reckoned with, but first, they must get there.

(A Skyfall/His Dark Materials fusion in that this series takes place after the events of Skyfall, with the sole addition that everyone has a daemon. All Craig!Bond canon applies).

    Summary

“Can I not simply stare to admire you?” he murmurs. He’s five paces away. Four. Three. Two. He stands close enough to see the freckles on Phainon’s golden-hued skin, close enough to breathe in his earthy scent. His want is a physical being that demands he grip Phainon’s body and never let go lest this moment slips away from them both. He cups Phainon’s face, and Phainon settles his hands on his hips.

Sometimes, he watches Phainon and thinks how fortunate it is that they can be this kind, this delicate with each other now.

“I think you’re the more eye-catching one between the two of us, Mydeimos,” Phainon says. His lips twitch, and Mydei can feel the muscles of his cheek moving under his fingers.

What a miracle it is that they have this now. What a relief.

    Summary

“Mydei?” Phainon tentatively began with the same caution he approached animals with a single glassy, scarred eye, crouching low in their line of sight and extending his hand for them to come towards him.

Unfortunately, Mydei was more stubborn than any stray cat and scoffed back. “What’s with that tone, Deliverer?”

There was no use circling the truth.

    “Can you see me?”

At that, Mydei’s stoic expression waned into a wry smile. “No.”

When Mydei is struck by a Cleaner’s poison while outside Okhema’s walls, the last thing to recover are his eyes. Until the poison is fully purged Phainon is designated as his aide.

    Summary

If the Kremnoans truly decided to settle somewhere else, within the high clouds like the Skyfolk, an island in the distant sea, the mountain of legend that the city had first risen from, then Mydei wouldn’t object. Even if it took him far from Okhema’s high walls where so many of his friends still resided.

There was no reason for Mydei to stay. Not if his responsibilities led him elsewhere. Out of the many things that had once restrained him—a cursed prophecy, a burden of responsibility, a bloodstained crown, and a radiant Coreflame that bestowed upon him the name of Strife—Phainon refused to be another.

Life goes on within the Eternal Pages, including Castrum Kremnos’ mess of internal politics. Where the fortress will settle, now that disaster has been averted and peace restored, is yet undecided but up for debate among Kremnos’ citizens.

To Phainon the mere possibility of the final verdict is daunting enough.

    Summary

Himmel excels at heroics—daring rescues, spectacular victories, and, perhaps most of all, putting his own feelings aside. At the close of a ten-year journey, resignation is the rule of his life, and he'll wait.

Problem is, finding an orphaned young elf was not in the cards when he made that plan, and the fact is that no one is more qualified to advise him on the matter than the woman he swore to himself he wouldn't chase.

(Or: Himmel acquires a daughter, Frieren is confused, and everything—finally—comes back around.)

    Summary

Tom liked to say that it took one dish of homemade pelmeni to unravel and end the 235 years of implicit and explicit prohibitions against homosexuality in the US military.

Pete, on the other hand, thought he was exaggerating. DADT did not end because of them. (Or did it?)
