Summary
Starscream, Thundercracker, and Skywarp are some of the first decepticons on Cybertron. Starscream's not in it for all the right reasons, but he is in it, and a new world order would suit him just fine if he could rise to the top of it. His lofty plans are for nothing. Starscream and his trine never come back from a mission and are assumed dead, hunted down by the autobot council.
It is a surprise, then, to find them frozen in stasis three million years later, after the explosion of the great war and the fall of Cybertron. The decepticon cause has changed around them, and so have Megatronus and Orion Pax.
OR
The area was swarming with autobots-- where was he?-- and Starscream, hiding, searched desperately for a familiar face. He tugged on the trine bond, but no one tugged back. The connection felt dead.
There! In the distance, Starscream spotted a familiar boxy frame, the red and blue paintjob shining bright against dull, faded glacier.
Primus, that's Megatronus's mech! Starscream thought. Orion Pax was little else-- he wasn't even a decepticon, only some wishy-washy affiliate, and he couldn't fight because he didn't believe in harming so much as a scraplet. What is he doing here?

Summary
As the dust between Autobots and Decepticons finally settles, the two factions attempt to rebuild the home they lost to war. With Cybertron's resources drained, they look to begin sending out exploratory research missions once again in search of said resources. Starscream has been serving time since the end of the war, and is roped into going against his will. Jetfire is lost and aimless after being thrown into a war only for it to end so soon after and leave him in a strange world, and agrees to go in hopes it will inspire him to figure out what his life should be now.
Neither of them have seen each other since their brief reunion in the war, and now they must live in close quarters, just like old times. When they reach their destination, things go wrong, and the two will have to learn how to trust and work together again if they have any hope of making it home alive.

Summary
Optimus has watched Starscream, decepticon air commander and loyal (ish) second to the ruthless Megatron, die, approximately twenty times.
It's disturbing.
He doesn't like Starscream. Nobody likes Starscream. But Optimus doesn't enjoy seeing anyone pass away; it's the thing that constantly makes him hesitate to continue the war. If he were fighting for a lesser cause, he would have surrendered to end it and, in the process, end the continuous loss of life the fight cost.
-
Or, the one where Optimus gets stuck in a time loop that resets every time Starscream dies. A mech who remembers every time he's failed to save someone, and a seeker who is not only doomed to die, but is utterly insufferable.
What could possibly go wrong?

Summary
War taught Starscream how to fight, how to betray, how to survive—but peace offers him something he doesn’t know how to accept: forgiveness. It felt strange, living in a world where silence wasn’t just for hiding, where weapons weren’t always nearby, and where standing out in the open didn’t mean you’d get shot.
Cybertron had been changing ever since the peace treaty.
But Starscream couldn’t bring himself to change with it.
“If you stay rooted in one place, how can you see what the world has to offer?” Skyfire says, his words too gentle, too sweet.
“Change is uncertain. Sometimes it’s difficult, and you never know what you’ll have to go through just to make a small difference. But no matter how small—it’s still change. And that? That’s a treasure.”

Two times Starscream took care of his trinemates, and one time he allowed them to take care of him.
