    Summary

It was panic that drove him from the castle wearing nothing more than a torn tunic and a stained pair of trousers; that, and pain. There isn’t a part of him that doesn’t hurt in some way, that isn’t covered by blood, or bruised black and blue. With every step, agony shoots up his spine and more than once, he has to slow down to catch his breath.

He can’t go back now. He can’t. Every time he closes his eyes, he sees Agravaine’s body lying against the wall, blood trickling from his cracked skull to pool beneath his head. Merlin can never go back after what happened.

    Arthur will never forgive him.

    Bookmarker's Notes

This fic captures the shame and humiliation. I love Arthur in this so much. He puts everything together, he's not an idiot or oblivious, and still chooses Merlin. This fic really captures both of them perfectly.

    Summary

“How in the Sith-hells do these things happen to you, Kenobi? Enslaved to a Hutt on a desert backwater in the Outer Rim and you still end up raising the Chosen One and defeating the first Sith Lord anyone has seen in a millennium.”

    “Heh. Just lucky, I guess.”

In which Qui-Gon Jinn does not quite tie up all loose ends on Bandomeer, and by “loose ends” we mean the one and only Obi-Wan Kenobi, who consequently leads a very different life. He might just take this “loose ends” business pro.

    Summary

"Hey, uh, Win?" Ed said, gently rapping his knuckles against the door as he pushed it open. He swallowed and rubbed the back of his neck. "I'm, uh... I'm not going to be able to finish my client. I need you to take over. When you've got a minute."

"What's wrong? What happened?" she said in a low tone, reaching out and grabbing his hands. "Ed, you look like... What did she say?"

"Nothing, she just..." Ed shrugged and did his best to laugh, but it came out more like a whimper. "She just said that I don't look Xerxian. That I'm supposed to have brown skin. And I might have snapped at her a little bit."

    Summary

Captain James Tiberius Kirk of the USS Enterprise was exposed to trials and tribulations of someone many times his age. Surviving mass violence and genocide on the Earth Colony of Tarsus IV in 2246 was only the beginning. Deep and lasting physical scars always leave mental marks as well. Bookmarker's Notes

The Tarsus IV fic written by a holocaust historian. Yes really. Gets down to the nitty gritty of what a genocide is, as well as what surviving does to a person.
If you're going to read a Tarsus IV fic, read this one.
