Summary
He didn’t know when it had started. Was there a particular point when he realized he was in love with Yue? Yes. Naturally, there was a period of denial.
And then wavering. He considered that he was just confused. Maybe the closeness, emotionally and physically, was leading him to become attached unnecessarily. Since the Banana Fish incident years ago, losing Lao, Shorter, and Ash in such a short amount of time, and so traumatically at that, the longing to be free from the loneliness was consuming.
And Yue relieved the loneliness. So for a while, Sing told himself he was just attached to the comfort Yue provided.
But this was real. These feelings weren’t some attachment that stemmed from trauma or codependency. He knew that now.
This story follows Sing and Yut-Lung in the years following the ending of Banana Fish.

Summary
Ash Lynx lives, but he doesn't go to Eiji in Japan. Real life happens and the characters deal with it over time.
We meet Eiji seven years later. He’s thinking about Ash and needs closure, or clarity, one of the two, and goes back to New York to see the crew. Basically, this is my take on if Ash lived, what might have happened.
Meanwhile, we follow Yut-Lung figuring out whether it's time to open his heart.

It wasn’t that he wanted to avoid Eiji, more that he didn’t want to bother Eiji by just showing up like “hey bro here to check out my dead enemy’s pics, oh and about my role in that, my bad lmao.” He really wouldn’t mind having a conversation with Eiji, but now didn’t seem like the right time and he didn’t want to offend him by… existing in this space.

Yut-Lung was strong. He could be cunning and ruthless. At times he would show no hesitation and even involved himself more than he needed to, like with the creep he dealt with a few days ago, but Sing realized Yue still had mental blocks when it came to certain situations.
