Sebastian has perfected the art of being invisible. Only Sam, Abigail, and his mother know the truth, and his plan is simple: continue to hide his secondary gender, save every penny, and escape to Zuzu City where omegas aren’t forced to live in fear.
But a normal weekly trip to the saloon with his friends causes his path to cross with a stranger who just rolled into town—a tall, sharp-eyed, silver tongued man with a roguish smirk.
He’s an omega too, and he sees Sebastian for exactly what he is. Now, curiosity has him by the throat, and the comfort he finds in Sterling’s orbit might just be worth the risk.

Sterling Cooper moved back home from Zuzu City as a final chance to try to stay clean, keep his head down and not make waves in Pelican Town. He wasn't expecting to meet someone like Eli--a rooftop-climbing, cryptid-hunting, ridiculously charming cryptozoologist who decided to drag him into a mystery of magical creatures and midnight stakeouts.
But when a chance encounter under the stars turns into nights of stargazing, half-truths, and maybe-sightings of maybe-real creatures, Sterling finds himself pulled into Eli’s world.
He’s not sure what he believes in anymore and somehow, the quiet between them feels like the safest place on Earth.
A slow-burn romance about starlight, secrets, and learning to believe in things you thought you’d lost the ability to, including yourself.

Started as a short writing exercise/drabble, turned into a short story off to the side of Mostly Mythical, and now further expanded into a full oneshot that extends the short story (Mostly Mythical B-Sides Ch. 4) and let's things become more intimate and passionate where the other version ended without showing the extended night together. This isn't in alignment with the plot of Mostly Mythical but it was too cute to NOT make an extended NSFW version.
Can be read as a standalone Sterling/Eli oneshot. Enjoy!

Summary
Somewhere deep in the cascades, 2007, Stardew Valley chugs along its predictable routine. The arrival of two brothers shakes things up in Pelican Town, for better or worse. Despite all signs pointing toward it being a pretty bad idea, Sebastian takes a liking to the mute one, who is definitely not normal, and they both have a lot of baggage to deal with. Sam really throws a wrench in things when he finds himself swept away by his own emotions. The other farmer seems polite... A bit saccharine, if you ask Shane. Everyone better get their shit together right quick, before their enemies figure out where they've gone off to.
(A POV switching cryptid mystery where everyone is gay and crazy, with a lot of 2000s music references and art (that I draw myself for practice) and a bit of loose watcher lore inspiration)
