    Summary
Viago had been told to observe: not to speak unless spoken to, not to reveal anything unnecessary, not to embarrass the Sixth Talon in front of the First.

He excelled at that. He excelled at anything requiring silence, precision, stillness. He stood straight, hands clasped behind his back, eyes forward, cataloguing Villa Dellamorte the way he catalogued everything, noting architecture, exits, guard rotations, the way light fell across marble floors.

    Then Caterina said two names.

    “Lucanis. Illario.”

Two boys stepped forward; Viago’s attention snapped to the smaller one immediately.

    Lucanis Dellamorte.

Perfect posture. Perfect stillness. Perfect attention. A child trained to be a weapon long before Viago had begun, and who wore that training like a second skin.

Something tightened in Viago’s throat. Recognition, perhaps. Or warning.

    This boy was competition.

    Summary

Xiqaa and Davrin spent plenty of time together in the early days, a closeness that would later feel like both comfort and a haunting.

No matter how they angled it, Varric’s little hand mirror was useless for braiding their hair. They had been working by touch for weeks. It became a kind of exercise, something to occupy their hands while their mind wandered through the team’s next steps, the progression of the battle with the gods, or the long sleepless hours spent trying to avoid Solas’ voice in their head.

The only drawback was that the rhythm of braiding could be a soothing meditation that carried them straight into the space Solas had carved out in their mind. The bald, so-called elven god of Trickery was always needling Xiqaa about the next stage of their plan or their thoughts on elven gods. It was enough to drive an elf a little mad, and they’d had enough of madness for the moment.

“Hey, Rook,” a voice called from the doorway. “Need a hand?” Davrin leaned against the frame with his usual languid smile.

“I’d love a couple of them, actually. Do you know how to braid?”

    Hawke winked at him."
