"Do you think I'm an asshole?"
"I don't really think about you in general," Robin snarks, scribbling an annotation on her copy of Macbeth and flipping the page. Unfortunately, it's not entirely true. Robin spends more of her brain power than she'd like to trying to decipher the hows and whys of Steven C. Harrington. But she's definitely not thinking about him as often as he thinks she is.
"Oh."
He sounds genuinely wounded, and Robin sighs, looking up from her book to meet his eyes. He's trying to hide it, obviously, shoving his hands in the pockets of his too-tight jeans, and looking at anything but her. Despite her rudeness, he makes no move to leave.
"That's not— I was kidding, kind of," Robin admits begrudgingly. "Why are you asking if I think you're an asshole?"
Set Post-Season One. Steve drives Robin home from work. Robin drives Steve to grow.

“You gotta get out of here,” he repeats, his eyes alight with a strange sort of panic, even for a dead boy’s brother. This isn’t grief. This is fight or flight, and Robin’s pretty sure he’s leaning toward fight. “This isn’t a good time –”
And that’s when a hand bursts out of the tree next to them.
Robin screams, and Jonathan is screaming, and the hand, which Jonathan seems to think is Nancy Wheeler, is screaming from inside the tree, but it’s glowing with a weird red light in there, and there’s some sort of mucus membrane that Nancy’s hand is frantically pushing through.
Suddenly Robin is lying in an all too quiet wood across from a panting Jonathan Byers and a goop-covered Nancy Wheeler.
“What– the fuck.”

And Yuna can’t help the weird sense that she’s honoured— her home was somewhere for Rozanov to go, even if she and David knew nothing about any of it, even if they still don’t, Shane knew it would be safe for Rozanov here. Shane told him to come home.

Is it so wrong that he wants Shane to feel safe here? To carve out a space where, even if only for a few hours, he doesn’t have to grin and bear anything? He can just be?

Fics are meant to be read as standalone stories, but contain references to one another. They span from pre-cottage to married life. I tried to arrange them chronologically, but the 5+1s are all over the place time-wise.
