    After the creature had finished mutilating the quintesson it looks towards me finally, it's a maw finally snapping closed. A part of my processor tries to rationalize it as nothing more than a visual malfunction in my optics, but it's still covered in the evidence of its actions, green acidic internal fluid covers the front of its body.

    I feel my fuel tank try to purge at the side of it, it just sitting there casually, like it is not just caused my processor to fry itself in the name of preserving what little sanity I had left.

    AKA, prowl meets cosmic horror Jazz and now has to suffer through all of Jazz's horrific actions, all the while Jazz treats it like an ordinary Sunday!

    "Yeah, I mean." Grant shrugged, "The one thing I'm good at is throwing a ball." And a punch but he wasn't going to add that one bit and dig his hole deeper than it already was.

    There was a brief pause from the other side of the desk, long enough for his curiosity to get the best of him. Grant glanced at the Coach's face, who in turn, was studying his face carefully. It was as much as a calculating look as it was a considering one. Grant could handle the coldness, not the rest of it.

    "But I mean..." he stammered, "I can try." He said. He was already trying but Todd didn't have to know that either. "To get better grades."

     

    Or: Grant has a shitty relationship with his parents and his school situation isn't that much better, it all changes when his new Coach shows interest on him and the abilities he has yet to acknowledge.
