Horror dawns on him as he realizes he’s staring at the snowy exterior of Ford’s house. His trembling hands come up to rest on the steering wheel. He’s back in his car. What the fuck?
Stan’s mind is racing. How did he get back out here? His eyes dart to the clock on the dashboard, but wait, that can’t be right. He doesn’t know exactly how long he spent in Ford’s place, half an hour? An hour, maybe? But no, the hands haven’t moved an inch.
OR
Stan finds himself stuck in a time loop on the day that he visits Ford in Oregon after ten long years apart. Stan struggles to keep Ford safe and figure out what's making him so paranoid while also trying to understand and escape the time loop. He's beginning to think that he's doomed to be a loser, but he's not sure which is worse: losing his brother or losing his mind.

You decide that it is very important to leave some extra noodles for the rat in a small bowl, because he lives here now, and he's probably hungry.
This is fine and totally won't lead to you befriending the rat, and becoming unhealthily attached to it.
Step 6: Become unhealthily attached
It's been a month. The rat is your friend now. It has followed you everywhere, even into the bathroom. It makes happy little squeaks when you scratch behind its ears and you love it dearly.
