Summary
Yuuji is curled in Sukuna's lap.
That is the fact of it, stripped of everything else: he is curled in Sukuna's lap, knees drawn up, face pressed into the King's chest, and the whole of him has been folded into the smallest shape he can manage—like if he just gets small enough, takes up just enough space that the decision to allow it costs nothing, then maybe it won't be taken away.
It hasn't been taken away.
That's the thing he keeps returning to. Every thirty seconds or so, some part of him surfaces long enough to check—still here, still allowed, still not removed—and then sinks back down. The checking is exhausting, but the alternative is not checking, and not checking requires a kind of trust he's still building the architecture for.
He pressed his face harder into Sukuna's chest and exhaled.

The tags say everything. Old man Yuuji from Modulo time traveled back into the Heian era. Sukuna is around and he's in his mid to late thirties. Either way, Sukuna is the younger man in this relationship which I personally find hilarious. Take one look at these two and you would not assume Yuuji is over eighty years old.

To Sukuna’s surprise, Yuuji’s hand shot out and wrapped around his own, tugging it closer to his face. It was rude and uncouth but Sukuna humored Yuuji just as he had by answering the question in the first place.
While Yuuji cradled his hand with one of his own, the other came up to prod at the blood that had welled on Sukuna’s thumb. He could feel his vessel pinching and tugging at the small hurt to encourage more blood to well. When it reached the blood's surface tension broke, Sukuna felt a warm trickle of blood start down his finger. Yuuji scooped it before it could trail down his wrist though, rubbing it between two fingers. He brought it close to his face and then touched his tongue to it.
“It’s blood,” Yuuji said, surprised. His eyebrows lifted toward his hair line and he looked at Sukuna. His tongue peeked out to wet his lips.
“What the fuck did you think it was, cherry syrup?” Sukuna snapped. “Idiot boy.”
“I didn’t think it’d be the same as mine!” Yuuji said. He was a little too loud, indignation colouring his voice.
“I’m not a fucking horseshoe crab.”

Pretty-woman quirks a thick brow, meticulously shaped. But large, kind of like the rest of her. She was curvy but no means lithe — muscular with a layer of fat Yuuji bet she could pinch. Quickly, her gaze eyes fall down to a pair of high heels. Black at the front with peeking red in the back. Yuuji bets even if the woman wasn't wearing them, she'd still tower over her. And that thought was hot.
"Old enough to buy me a drink?"
Now, Yuuji wasn't exactly sure what this lady wanted from the get up and Yuuji wasn't brazen enough to think that she was interested in her, with small breasts that only gave cleavage with a push-up bra and gangly limbs she didn't quite feel grown into yet.
Her friends liked to call her a useless lesbian and the girl tried to do her virtue signaling with the messy wolfcut and carabiner and the pin on her bag that says lesbians eat what?! With a shocked cat face. Considering Yuuji didn't fall much on either side of femme or butch. She was kinda, well, ordinary. But a girl, a useless lesbian, could hope. Maybe even pray.
And today? Today the gods have answered her.

A few miles out, there was a little orange light flickering. Far too big and color-saturated to be a star. Too low to the ground. Ray squinted at it, then realized that it was a fire. Once he saw that, he could make out the silhouette of what was burning: a farm house.
That’s a beacon, he thought deliriously. Untethered dream logic. He could somehow see the rising smoke through the sheets of rain, through the darkness of night. It was a signal. It was for him.
