If Max wanted to be the father he told himself he was becoming, if he wanted to stand in the kitchen and actually hear Penelope ask him a question without irritation flickering first, he needed a valve, something to release the pressure, something to quiet the ringing long enough to think straight. Because love for the girls, for the life he’d built, meant nothing if he was never truly in the room with them.
He stared up at the ceiling, hands folded on his chest, the room still quiet in that stubborn way. It wouldn’t need to happen again. His head felt peaceful, manageable, for once.
He hadn’t felt like too much in George’s bed, though.

Summary
Piercing green eyes watch Max from across the water. Dark, water-soaked curls cover the man’s head, stirring in the breeze as he perches with nimble grace on a craggy outcropping. The man is completely nude with pristine, sun-kissed skin, yet he seems completely at ease among the rough rocks and wild waves. He studies Max in silent, guarded contemplation, and everything about him radiates ethereal beauty.
Well, maybe Max has died and this is indeed an angel arriving to take him away. But the steady pain throbbing in his shoulder keeps him firmly grounded. This isn’t Heaven, but maybe he does need an MRI. Why else would a naked man be out amongst the dangerous waves staring back at Max like he’s the one who doesn’t belong here?

The hands push him and then the world is tilting, and he's leaning against a wall, a mouth on his. It startles him a bit and he gasps, but the tongue in his mouth is warm, and it feels good, until it doesn’t.

Summary

Max falls backwards, and someone else screams.
(Or a circus AU in which Max is an aerial artist, and Daniel is looking for a way to run away.)

Because tomorrow, Charles will have to go back to pretending. Charles will have to walk back into the paddock and act like he’s an alpha, like he deserves to be there, deserves to be a Formula 1 driver in a world where omegas are seen as little more than an inconvenience.
But Charles will prove them wrong. He knew he would right from the start, the first day that he got back into a kart after he’d presented, knowing exactly what he would be up against, that the odds would always and forever be stacked against him just because of his biology. He will win. He will become the first omega World Drivers Champion. He will accept his trophy at the gala and he will take the microphone and he will tell the world that he did that, an omega, an equal. He beat a field full of alphas, but more importantly, he beat a society that has tried to tell him from day one that he would never be good enough.

“Are you a little?”
Max's expression doesn't change when Daniel blurts the words at him.
He answers, “Yeah.”
Then he shrugs.
Like Daniel’s entire world doesn’t tilt on its axis with the movement. Like this information was obvious, or innocuous, and shouldn’t completely blow Daniel’s mind the way it does.
“What the fuck? Since when.”
“Since I was sixteen, obviously, Daniel.”
“I would’ve noticed,” he weakly argues. “There is no way I wouldn’t have noticed.”
Save for last week, never had Daniel’s caregiver instinct ever been set off by or around Max. There is just no way Max could’ve regressed around him. He would’ve noticed.
Daniel can’t be a failure at this, too.
“No one notices,” Max replies, “which is good. I am quiet when I regress.”
“What do you mean, quiet?”
“As in, I do not speak, Daniel.”
