Summary
Zed doesn’t know what he’s expected to change, after his victory over Shen. After he’s drugged, beaten and taken the other man in some random woods.
Probably nothing.
To be fair, Zed can admit that he overall hadn’t really spent much thought on the ‘after’ at the time. It wasn’t spontaneous, no, but his thoughts had been mostly focused on sating the desire to finally dominate his rival, not on what consequences it might have long-term. Maybe he’d finally have earned some respect. Maybe he could enjoy lording the victory over the other. Use it for blackmail, or something.
That sort of thing.
Instead, nothing seems to change. Except that Shen seemed to be a little off. Less around. Less seen, not just by Zed’s own network, but by the people in general. He’d gotten quieter.

Kayn looks visibly worried, and he is, but Ezreal doesn't register it between how the room is spinning and the colors in Kayn's eyes blur and shimmer with his delirium.
Ezreal's period comes a few days earlier than expected and has him borderline hallucinating from the pain. Luckily, he has a boyfriend who will do anything to help him feel better.

Kayn's life isn't all that exciting. He has a bland apartment in a big city, a tattoo artist apprenticeship, a motorcycle, a grudge against the local performing arts college, and an electric guitar that might be possessed.
At the end of August, he adds something to that list: a new neighbor. A new neighbor who has the most bright, cozy apartment on the floor, a moped, a guitar that's thankfully not possessed, a chipmunk as a pet, and the most beautiful voice he's ever heard. And bright pink hair.
Kayn's life gets interesting again really quickly after that.

But everything changes when two old vastayan friends offer you a place among their tribe if you infiltrate the Shadow Order and retrieve a stolen artifact. You'd finally have what you've always yearned for: somewhere to belong.
However, when the time comes to earn the Order's trust, you find that their leader might not be as much of a despicable monster as you'd made him out to be. Which part of yourself will you stay loyal to - the human who sympathizes with Zed, or the vastaya who wants to see the order he has built crumble to dust beneath his feet?
