Sleep deprived and hungry he would wake up to work 12+ hour shifts or try to scrape up enough money to rent a crappy apartment doing odd jobs on his days off. In hindsight, those were the good old days. He could never have expected what would happen to him next.

Dead leaves crunched under foot as something thick tightened around Tommy’s ankle. He didn’t have time to think trap, before–pop–he was swinging upside down by his foot.

Summary
Uncle Phil stands in front of Tommy with an awkward smile plastered to his face. His hair is longer than Tommy remembers, pulled back in a short ponytail. There is several days worth of stubble covering his chin, and his eyes look tired. Not the sort of tired that someone acquires from days without sleep, but a deeper tiredness. A weariness of the soul.
Phil is wearing green scrubs as if he'd come to pick up Tommy directly after work. He drops Tommy's luggage down at his side before taking a good look at the boy.
Phil looks Tommy up and down like adults often do when they haven't seen a kid for years. His uncle recycles the same cheesy line everyone uses, “Wow, you've gotten so big, Toms. You're almost as tall as me.”
The old nickname sounds strange coming out of his uncle's mouth. The name belongs to a different time, a different decade. Using it now just feels… contrived.

Tommy is sent to live with his relatives over summer break while his mom goes through rehab.

Then something odd happened. brief snippets, of, things... flickered through his minds eye. Familiar things, that didn't have much substance to them. A small red room with super hero posters on the wall. A boy with blonde hair like his, who always covered his eyes with cloth. Scrapes and bruises up both his legs and the taste of blood in his mouth. Mocking laughter, and a splotch of white hair. And a boy. A boy that wore a ram's mask and was prone to crying. Then like a door being slammed in his face, they stopped. Disappeared and gone.

It only took one 15-hour shift from hell for everyone to notice the newest Emergency Department MS4 was…weird. British accent, yet claiming to hail from Nebraska; more unaware of pop culture than a boomer; an aversion to the word ‘magic’ and an even bigger aversion to ‘family’ — the list goes on.
Everyone has a theory. One person truly understands, even without asking. And another figures it out, in spite of Whitaker’s best intentions.
AKA Dennis Whitaker is an estranged Weasley miracle baby and squib, doing his best to bring good to this world and become a doctor, despite his family’s hesitations. If only his childhood better prepared him to blend in with Muggles. Or Americans, for that matter.

Only, as far as Techno is concerned, things have never been worse. At least before he always had Carl to depend on. Now he's lost in a world of new people and rules with nothing to hold onto.
This new "family" won't change that, no matter what anyone says.

Homecoming AU.
Ben and May divorced before Peter’s parents died, so when Ben is murdered Peter goes into foster care. It takes just a tiny taste of superpowers for Peter to decide he doesn’t want to put up with his horrible foster father anymore—the streets are infinitely more appealing. All he wants is to be Spider-Man anyway.
So he leaves.
Simple.
Simple, that is, until Iron Man needs Spider-Man’s help. Peter isn’t about to turn down an opportunity to fight alongside Tony Freaking Stark, but he also isn’t going to let his hero know that his recruit is a fifteen-year-old homeless dropout. So they strike a deal. Peter will help Tony. In return, the mask stays on.
And that’s when things get complicated.

Summary
The police are going to come to the house, again, they’re going to interview Tubbo, again, they’re going to assure them that it looks like Tommy’s foster family left and took him with them of their own accord, again, they’re going to say they’re doing everything they can and they take kidnappings very seriously, again.
They’re going to take the letter and sweater, probably.
It doesn’t really matter though, to Tubbo the most important thing is that he just got confirmation of something he knew was true.

Tubbo's been busy in the time since Tommy's kidnapping. He knows his friend is alive, and he knows that with his experience with true crime and Ranboo... having a driver's license they can track down and save him.
At least that's what makes sense in Tubbo's head.
Maybe tracking down serial killers isn't the smartest plan.
