Summary
Hermione felt the pounding in her ears again. She would see him for the first time since the Great Hall, gaunt and stricken at the Slytherin table with his mother clutching his arm. She hadn't meant to look for him. Not in the corridors, not beneath the white sheets of the fallen, not on the way to the Chamber of Secrets with Ron, but she was a stupid girl.

Summary
Ten years after the war, Hermione Granger is a celebrated hero, a tireless political reformer–but behind closed doors, she's drowning in a Ministry that praises her with one breath and silences her with the next. She's brilliant, respected... and dangerously close to being done playing by their rules.
Cleared of his war crimes and sharper than ever, Draco Malfoy didn't just survive the fallout–he seized it. The most feared name in Wizarding Britain's criminal underworld, he controls the flow of potions, secrets, and power. And now, he's being ordered to marry the Ministry's Golden Girl.
Thrown into a marriage neither expected and neither intends to lose, Hermione and Draco must decide whether to rule from the shadows or burn the whole damn system down... together.
He may be the King of Wizarding Britain's criminal underworld–
but she is the Queen.
And may the gods help anyone who disrespects the Queen.

Summary
Hermione Granger, Draco Malfoy, Ron Weasley, and Pansy Parkinson are forcibly paired under a reenacted marriage law, designed to combat the wizarding world’s plummeting population. Matches must consummate their unions within a year or face reassignment.
Furious at the injustice, Hermione agrees to marry Draco Malfoy, as a calculated act of rebellion, determined to expose the law’s cruelty from within. Draco, under his mother’s pressure, sees the marriage as a means to an end, a way to restore the Malfoy name and manipulate public favour by aligning with the war’s golden girl.
Ron and Pansy, unexpectedly matched and left behind, are forced into uneasy coexistence, watching the people they care for most choose strategy over sentiment.
Intentions don’t stay hidden forever. With every bitter word, every stone thrown, and every unspoken truth, each couple finds themselves inching closer to the edge, until love, loyalty, and defiance bleed into something more dangerous. This is not how you fall in love. This is how you destroy me.

Summary
Note: This work has just been rewritten. It was initially published in November 2025.
Seven years on from the Battle of Hogwarts, a chance meeting in a coffee bar in muggle London sparks a relationship that quickly turns to love and romance.
Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy both carry emotional scars from traumatic events in their lives.
Can these two former rivals become soul mates and aid each other’s recovery?
This is a simple sweet love story, with implied sexual content, a bit of flirting and a lot of banter. There is emotional trauma and insecurity but no real angst.
The characters are not mine. They belong to J.K. Rowling.
The history behind the plot is largely canon up to fifth year, where some minor variations have been made to suit the story line, the most major one being Sirius Black is not dead.
I'd really appreciate some genuine comments so please feel free to leave them.
Enjoy!
