jason was used to empty rooms. one of the few things he remembers from living with catherine and willis was how empty their apartment was. his room was basically a walk-in closet with a tiny dresser and a sad excuse for a bed rumpled in the corner. then, after bruce took him in, jason had too much empty space to get used to. on days where he convinced bruce to let him stay home from school, jason would wander the vast halls wondering how anyone could ever live like this. he was so used to the bottom that when he got a glimpse of the top, it felt... off.
now here he was, back at the bottom, and back in an empty room.
