"I'm a great Spiderwoman," she huffs. "I keep myself safe. I don't need a sidekick. Do you think the actual Spiderman has a sidekick?"
"I think the actual Spiderman probably has, like, people who know who he is and what he's doing and do their best to help him when he needs it." He argues. Tallulah's eyes widen. Tommy pauses. "I mean. That's what I assume."
Or, Tallulah is going to be the next great spider themed hero for New York, just so long as she can keep her secret identity under wraps. And learn to fight. And regulate her growing powers. She's working on it, okay?
(It's just too bad that her uncle Tommy has already figured her out.)

"Yeah," Ranboo nods, "there's a magic to star reading you know. Some people, when they point out the constellations, can make them brighter to others."
Tommy hesitates.
Tubbo, still laying on Ranboo's shoulder, pauses. Ranboo watches Tommy, again with that same look that Tubbo had before, with the cat at the sliding door. A test.
Tommy's insides curl unpleasantly.
"Ah," Tommy goes, careful to sound politely interested, not prying, not surprised, not overly curious. Just as if Ranboo had told him a fact about dinosaurs or the mechanics of a car- like magic is some distant thing that Tommy will only ever know the surface of. "That's cool."
or, tommy is magic and hiding, afraid to lose his best friends. unfortunately, ranboo and tubbo are intent on trying to figure him out.

Tommy nods. Doesn't look at her.
He's lying, and it's hard because he's never been the best at it, but he doesn't have much of a choice here. He's- Tommy, and Niki is Niki. Her shifted form is a fucking dove for prime's sake. She's the symbol of love and peace, universally liked. She's written into the bible by Jesus H. Christ, that's how loved she is.
Tommy isn't written into anything, isn't anywhere. He couldn't possibly compare.

Summary
Tommy had suffered on and off throughout his life from hanahaki, which sort of happens to someone who trusts too much and always gets their hopes crushed. He just wants someone to actually care about him, but he knows he's not going to get that, especially not with Dream and not with how the disease has been getting worse.
Dying and defeated, Tommy's only solace comes in the form of weird eldritch singing emanating from the forest outside his window. He knows that whatever it is will likely be a cannibalistic cryptid from his worst nightmares, but somehow he can't find it in himself to care. Any death will be better than suffocating alone.
Or
Tommy is on a quest to get killed by unknown monsters instead of the ones he does know. This is somehow more difficult than it should be.
