Summary
“I don’t— please no… don’t send me off to die, I don’t want to die please!” This time it’s accompanied by the rustling of bedsheets. I speed up. Almost there, almost there.
On a first listen Grace appears to be safe and sound but now that I focus in on her I hear her racing heartbeat paired with unsteady breaths. I also notice the fluid running down her cheek. It seeps into the pillow under her head forming a damp spot. Something is definitely wrong.
What should I do?
Is there even anything I can do?
I know the answer to that question and it’s a definitive no. I am completely powerless when it comes to this. My hearts ache. It hurts to know I can’t even fulfil the simplest of duties for her, for the person I love. Dread creeps up my limbs, making its way towards my middle, threatening to consume me completely. I can’t do anything. I’m useless. Just like back then.
I couldn’t save them and I can’t save Grace—
Or, Grace is tormented by nightmares but never explained to Rocky what those are so she rightfully panics.

Summary
The first thing to catch my attention is the orange formatting of the page. It looks familiar… but I can’t quite place it just yet. I check the top of the tab and sure enough… Rocky found Reddit.
I sigh. I had hoped that would never happen. Rocky excitedly continues, seemingly unable or unwilling to wait until I finish reading the text.
Found people discussing footage Grace sent back to earth! Talk much interesting topics, and Rocky also mentioned a lot! They say Rocky Grace know each other in the ♪♫♩♪ sense!
He almost jumps up and down in excitement.“What? How is that even- you know what never mind, need word, you used a new one there, bud.”
Oh, ♪♫♩♪, question? Is human religion, book way.
Book? Religion? What could he possibly- Oh. My. Gosh. I know what he means by that!
“Rocky do you mean in the biblical sense?!” My voice is high, almost indistinguishable from a shriek.
Or Rocky finds a subreddit of users discussing the nature of Grace and Rocky‘s relationship after the beetles return to earth and has quite a few questions.

Summary
“Rocky, hey, what are you talking about?” Rocky stops her pacing and instead turns the “front side” of her carapace in my direction.
Grace leak blood in sleep! Grace injured, Rocky can’t fix, you wouldn’t wake up. Bad, bad, bad! Her notes are low, a tone I’ve come to read as something resembling sorrow or anxiety.
I still don’t really understand what she’s talking about. I feel fine, and as far as I can see there’s nothing resembling an injury anywhere on my body. I shift a little on the mattress and feel something wet and sticky underneath me again.
Okay, that is weird. I hastily pull away the blanket covering my legs and am met with possibly the most unpleasant sight one can be met with (maybe aside from waking up on a spaceship in another star-system with no memories). A small bloodstain has formed on my underwear and stained the bed sheets. Great, just great.
Or, Grace gets her Period for the first time about a year into their journey to Erid and Rocky panics.

“Without Grace, all Rocky plural perish,” Rocky continued tirelessly, as if he’d been holding all of this back for ages. “All Rocky can do is love savior Grace for rest of life. Rocky Grace ♫♬♩♪.”
It nearly came as a surprise to be confronted with a new Eridian term, but Grace’s brain short-circuited upon hearing these unknown chords. Hardly able to put any sound to his voice, he uttered, “Need word, Rock.”
“Meant to be together forever,” Rocky explained.
Grace took a very shaky breath. “Soulmates,” he defined. “You think we’re soulmates.”
“Rocky no think,” he said, tapping one foot against the bunk to give strength to his words. “Rocky know.”
