“You’re sick too, I’m guessing?” Mammon stumbled into the library, taking a seat. “Heard you throwing up before. I w’nted to check on you, but I figured you’d prefer to be alone.” His words slurred a bit, sounding congested.
“You too? You’re joking!” Satan laughed dryly, eye twitching.
Mammon couldn’t help but cringe. The dark circles under Satan’s eyes rivalled his own. “I wish I was.” The greed demon shrugged, hating how that small action alone sapped his energy. “Nobody else heard you, by the way. They went out.”
“Okay, good. We can’t let them know, you know how they’ll be.” He coughed quickly into his elbow and turned back to face Mammon. “How about this? A truce. I’ll cover for you, you cover for me. We won’t tell Lucifer, we won’t tell anyone!”
Mammon nodded. “Sure.”
They both knew it was only a matter of time. Once the others found out- once Lucifer found out- they’d be punished for sure. Demons don’t get sick. Getting sick was a show of weakness. Mammon and Satan were anything but weak, and they’d prove that with stubbornness and certainty.
...This was going to end up being a disaster.

Modern-with-magic grad school AU where (almost) everyone is early to mid-twenties so I can put some of my headcanons to use. I expect Gideon's taste in dance-y, cheesy, pop-y music to come up (she unironically likes Hips Don't Lie: change my mind)
Romance eventually, whump and lots of it to start. Gotta get these sapphic disasters to trust each other somehow, right? It’s been so long since I’ve written some good fantasy horror ick but there is plot. I swear I’m not just writing delirium to write delirium (but I AM enjoying myself immensely).
