Summary
Sam and Sebastian are in their late 20's and struggling to find their places in the world. Programming work is running dry in Zuzu City, and Sebastian faces the reality that he's going to have to move back home. He and Sam (who never left town) pool their savings and buy Pam's old trailer. To help make ends meet, Sebastian decides to join the Adventurer's Guild, with Sam at his side. Can these two friends with benefits find true love in the Mines?

For a long minute there was nothing but silence, as Sam stared at his hands and Sebastian shifted in his chair.
"Alright," Marlon said, finally, his voice causing Sam to jump. "We've heard enough." Sam braced himself to be told to get out, but Marlon spoke again. "We'll take you both on for a trial period. You won't be full members of the Guild until you each slay ten slimes on your own, but we won't have you go down in the caves until you've had some training."
"No shit," Gil muttered, but when Sam met his gaze, he was smiling.

Summary

"And… Sebastian?" the barista continued, placing another drink on the counter. The dark haired man moved forward, his elbow bumping against Amelia's accidentally.
"Shit!" he swore, turning towards her. "My bad, sorry about…" He blinked, stormy grey eyes meeting hers in shock. "Lia?" he gasped, his jaw dropping in surprise.
"Bastian?" Amelia replied, equally surprised to see him there.

The sky was clear, the moon momentarily tucked away behind a small cloud while the constellations were just making themselves known over the surprisingly still ocean. It was the perfect night for romance… if only Sam could be brave enough to tell his best friend his deepest secret. Summary
Kenny escaped to Pelican Town to get away from a crappy relationship, a crappy job, and an all-around crappy life. Very quickly, that life changed entirely. Pelican Town gave him a change of scenery, a new lease of life, and a whole new perspective on friendship, community and family.
It also gave him Alex, who was all muscle and smiles and stupid jokes and gentle hands. Falling for him was basically an inevitability. Kenny just couldn't help himself.[ REWRITE of Boys Will Be Boys -- The original story of Kenny and Alex, now retold through the brain of someone who has now had an extra 2+ years of writing experience :) ]

Lottie pauses for a moment. "Ms. Snow told us that Father's Day is on Sunday…"
Fuck. Was it already Father's Day? Sam was already terrible at remembering birthdays and the bigger holidays, he completely forgot that Father's Day was even a thing. Shit. Was he supposed to get Sebastian something? He never could remember. What did he do last year? He was pretty sure he helped Lottie make a card for him, which, funny enough, was exactly what Sebastian had done for him.
"Father's Day on Sunday. Okay…"
"Well, I wanted to make Daddy some pumpkin soup for dinner. He loves that! But I don't know how."
Or
Sam and Sebastian's daughter plans something special for both of them for Father's Day.
