But he knew a lie wouldn't get past them. “It's because he's Buggy.”The Red Hair Pirates can’t decide whether letting one clown pirate aboard after Marineford is the greatest decision they have ever made, or the worst. On one hand, their captain no longer rampages through every rut like a feral beast. On the other hand… the fearsome Emperor of the Sea turns into the clingiest and most pathetic Alpha imaginable.

They both wanted to be there at Roger's execution. Buggy insisted that maybe it would bring some comfort to their captain in his last moments, and Shanks would go wherever Buggy did. After it's done, Shanks (as any horny teenage boy would do while alone with a cute girl) makes a move, ostensibly to comfort her.
When she's gone the morning after, he doesn't realize he won't see her again for twenty-four years.

Buggy was not usually a pirate given to subtlety or discretion. He wanted word of his wicked deeds to spread far and wide! If people were afraid of him, they’d give in faster, so he wouldn’t have to work as hard to get what he wanted!

Buggy is not sure how the hell he gained the attentions of a celestial dragon. Yah ok thy known each other when thy both were kids and were kinda friends. But he’s sure he’s done nothing to deserve this fiery inferno coming into his life, and destroying, claiming every bit of it. At least he had not dune anything the redhead. At least he didn’t remember doing so… The flames are gentle, at least to him, but he still wants to escape them. He just had to think of a way escape, somehow… Before Red convinces him, that it’s better, warmer and safer with the fire.

Summary
Buggy accidentally stumbles onto Shanks's territory on one of his islands for a supply restock. When he finds a certain flag, disgusting realization hits him and he burns it in front of the city. A stupid move, really, considering the face of that flag was docked across the islands other side. One scolding leads to another and Buggy finds himself in Shanks's cabin (un)willingly so.
Aka, what if he pulled what Bartolomeo did, except he's Buggy and Shanks is whipped so instead of a public beating he got something better or worse.
