“Fine,” says Anakin. “Just couldn’t sleep.” They both know it is a lie.
Obi-Wan steps over the tangle of roots at the base of Anakin’s tree, making his way closer and closer. When he reaches Anakin, he crouches down to face him at eye-level. Anakin clenches his jaw, refusing to meet Obi-Wan’s gaze. In his dream, he had been—he had been—

There was something satisfying about having control over a person like Anakin. Brash and wild and full of fury and determination, Anakin was like trying to hold on to fire. He could warm and comfort but also burn and devour, his moods varying from one moment to the next He was insolent to those whom he didn’t respect, and only marginally civil to those he did.
But Obi-Wan could sooth. He could command. And sometimes, Anakin would listen.

The beast blinked. He seemed to ponder the question - savour it, almost - before he leaned in. His breath was hot as it billowed against Anakin’s tear streaked cheeks, his grip tightening even more as he pinned Anakin down onto the forest floor. For a moment Anakin had almost forgotten to be afraid, but when the man hid away the moon with the weight of his body, fear roiled up in him once more.
“Don’t you know?” he said, voice still pretty and courteous. “Why, I’m the beast that lurks in these woods; the protector, the sentry. I’m the pitiable wretch cursed to follow the shadows the moon casts, like an unhappy lover doomed to admire a cold deity. I’m the big bad wolf, little one.” He hooked his claw beneath Anakin’s jaw and tilted his head upward, making Anakin look at him. “And you’re the most beautiful prey I’ve ever hunted.”

It seemed the second Anakin heard about Obi-Wan’s prescription of bed rest he was in Obi-Wan’s room, invading his space with greedy hands that pulled and pushed into every knot and coil in his aching body. It wasn’t as if Obi-Wan was against having a handsome, overeager Jedi Knight in his bedroom, but he also knew that whatever Anakin had planned wouldn’t be calming nor restful.
“Nothing you have ever done in your life could be described as restful or calming, Anakin. You don’t even sleep peacefully, the way you constantly roll around and kick your legs out.”
“That’s not fair, Master. I can be very calming when I want to be.”
