    The Rogues are back; Tony Stark couldn't even be mad about it - it was his idea after all. He's an Avenger and that means protecting the Earth at any cost - even if he has to deal with a certain star-spangled man and his sullen sidekick. After all, he's been through worse in his life; the loss of his wife and the disappearance of his son 12 years ago. Compared to that, this would be a walk in the park.

    Bucky Barnes is back on US soil as a free man. But freedom is more than just physical. On top of that, Steve is desperate for him to be the man he was before. The only problem is; that man is long dead.

    Peter Parker has been through the mill but he knows he just had to adapt, roll with the (many) punches and keep going. Spider-man is his safe place now, the one time he could truly feel like himself. Like he is making a difference. He'd make sure no one would suffer like he has, even if he has to track down the perpetrator himself.

    “Look, I get it. He’s your best friend. But you have to stop being a self-pretentious idiot who thinks he could punch his way out a situation.”

    “Like blasting your way out of a situation is much better?”

    “Yes it is, because I fucking use my head. This is a fucking conspiracy. They probably waited to tell you about all this bullshit when they had you enraptured deep enough to their ‘cause.’ Why do you think I privatized my suit, what do you think SHIELD would do if they got their hands on it? Everything they do is for their own gain.”

After he's injured, it only gets worse and maybe it's time for him to hang up the hero mask. It's like they say, you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

    In 2005, Tony Stark’s son is kidnapped. In 2006, the Winter Soldier meets a boy named Pyotr. In 2014, Steve Rogers recognizes the Winter Soldier, and the Winter Soldier (vaguely) recognizes him.

    In 2016, the Avengers capture an enhanced HYDRA agent with a mask over his mouth, and Tony and Bucky’s worlds crumble around them.

     

    or, HYDRA’s first mistake was stealing Tony Stark’s son. Their second mistake was giving the Winter Soldier someone to care about. Their third mistake was underestimating the lengths that Tony and Bucky were willing to go to get him back.
