i'm so obsessed with these nursing back to health tropes. the descriptions of their surroundings, the mechanics of each item and the characters themselves were so well-written. i also loved branzy's internal monologues, consistently shifting in their nature. especially during his contemplation on whether to kill clown or not, understanding the legacy he could lead, even if only temporary, with that evidential death message. also loved a good touch-starved clown, as i find this so much more intimate than actual romancing. the way clown's biology was described was remarkably interesting and i adored the author's take on things (like whether his mask was even a mask at all). thank you for this wonderful read!

i cannot fathom the spectrum of emotions i just bulldozed through... mid-class, jaw-dropped while the teacher gave sideways glances, covering my face--my laughter & tears. as the fic progresses, it becomes buzzier and buzzier, to to point of chipping at my straight-faced façade. the ending, falling back into that same, harmful pattern, where will is left to his own accord, thoughts brimming with the boy who left him there. i am so ready to invest my time in this one shot series knowing damn well that it will break me. thank you, author, for evoking this indescribable feeling within me.

“Hi Branzy.” Clown speaks, quiet and calculated. As always. It’s unnerving. “I got in a bit of a tussle, can you help me?”
Oh. Branzy blinks, swallows once, twice, then nods. “Of course I can.”
Clown nods and moves his leg, spreading his thighs further and revealing that, beyond the rip in his costume, there is a cut running from his pelvis to the inside of his knee. It's deep and still steadily leaking blood. Deep enough that Branzy can see the yellow layer of fat peaking through in certain areas.
“Gosh, they really got ya’ good, huh?” Branzy murmurs, his free hand coming to trace along the jagged edge of the wound. Clown shivers, leg flinching backwards as his grip on Branzy tightens.

the intimacy of this had me going crazy??? i've gotta say this is one of my first smp fics since a... certain fandom. i'll never get over reading about the good ol' after-action patch-up trope. also was today years old when i found out there was a thing called the florence nightingale effect or “nightingale syndrome” which happens when a caregiver develops romantic feelings for their patient. i think the characterisations of both clown and branzy, despite my little knowledge of them, were remarkable. especially in dialogue. branzy's constant skittering from topic to topic felt so right while clown was more reserved, selective in what he said aloud. anyway, thank you to the author for such an evocative read. i enjoyed this so much!

oh man... if the original arg left me feeling incomplete then this was the finishing touches. i absolutely adore the contrast of personality between d3rlord3 and avery, in their actions, rationality, even their way of speaking. every single scene with any form of contact had me panicking, ESPECIALLY the hand kiss. i really liked d3lord3's allusions to knighthood, being dutiful and devoted to the person he wanted to protect. their little sparring sessions was such a nice way of building the dynamic. avery's switch from jokeful to serious, somehow always knowing what to say, was such a nice way of characterising him. also loved his overreactions when the helmet came off (cuz like... me too.) I really enjoyed this fic, thank you to the author!

the best possible way one can write a fic between these two is to come up with the silliest shenanigan possible and roll with it. that is exactly what this author has done! love when the interests of stan and richie contrast, especially when the author actually highlights this, so of course, by establishing opinions on the seasons, richie takes on the gruelling cold while stanley enjoys the outdoors when flowers are blooming. super cute read!
