Jonathan couldn’t stop thinking of his and Teddy’s dance long past when it was appropriate. He should call it his, Teddy’s and Roxy’s dance but she was only on the periphery. His mind returned to Teddy over and over again. The weight of his hands on Jonathan’s waist. He’d never been held like that in his life, he’d never been gazed at like that. He’d never been so totally blindsided by crushing desire.
He told himself it was simply him playing the part. But Matthew Ellis was as good as dead and Jonathan suffered a terrible problem. He couldn’t stop thinking about Teddy, he couldn’t stop the endless yearning to touch him.

But the pitter-patter of his heart and the way it stumbles over itself every time Teddy so much as offers a hint of a smile tells him that in the event of this scenario, where both their worlds collapsed and they failed, he was incapable of leaving him behind.
