    Neal Caffrey is many things, charming, witty an alleged forger and master thief and most importantly - he didn’t exist.

    Oh he did exist legally, and it really is very easy to create fake IDs and personas when you could covertly do some low key time traveling and be sure that you cannot actually fuck something up because the immortal ghost who might have been a god once, is watching that you don’t break anything.

    Neal Caffrey has somehow managed to wriggle his way into the FBI as a CI and works with them to prevent and solve crimes so that he will hopefully not go back to prison and can literally walk off the rest of his sentence.

    Danny Fenton however, infiltrated the FBI to weed out GIW agents that have been and are wanting to take root and branch out into even more of the several other federal organizations after the Anti-Ecto Acts have been nuked out of the Earth’s atmosphere - figuratively. They, of course, didn’t like that they had to disband and tried to gain foot in other ways and since most federal agencies and police adjacent bureaus are corrupt, it is easy for them to do so.
