“That’s a lot of anger, for such a little girl.”
That voice swept around Amane again like dead leaves eddying on a sluggish summer breeze. She went ramrod-straight, knowing that had she been alive, the hairs on her arms would be standing up.
“I’m not that little,” Amane muttered nonsensically.
“Aren’t you?”
Amane looked down at herself, and for the first time in years, she realized that she did look like a little girl. All of this time she’d been shadowing Ryou as exactly the sister he’d lost. It didn’t matter that her limbs were short and her hands were tiny, and that she hadn’t yet grown into her aristocratic nose, because Ryou didn’t see her anyways - he saw that dead-little-sister-angel of his dreams, the object of his grief built as scaffolding over the real child who had lived and breathed and walked the earth. And so Amane clung to that real child stubbornly, preserving her down to the smallest lash and fingernail.
“I’m fourteen,” Amane insisted.
Bakura Amane has spent the entirety of her afterlife haunting her brother's steps. When Ryou's body is forced to board the Kaiba Craft 3, she finds that she is far from the only ghost aboard.

Summary

Mai freezes in place, crouched down in front of the sorry corpse, arms around her knees. She can’t make herself turn around to face whatever horror has strangled the life from a warehouse full of bodies.
“Don’t kill me,” she gasps, a sound just as broken and piteous as that corpse's last whimper, just as futile. She’d never thought she would plead at the end; turns out there’s nothing like imminent death to wake up the part of your brain that desperately wants to be alive after all.
But death doesn’t come.

Summary
When the buzzer in Jounouchi’s flat goes off at midnight, he’s not sure what to expect. The only people who ever drop by unannounced are Honda and Anzu. Anzu has a key and doesn’t need the buzzer, and Honda only comes at ungodly hours of the morning to clean his apartment and lecture him the entire time while Jounouchi watches TV in a half-awake stupor.
“Hello?” Jounouchi says into the receiver.
“Hello,” a soft voice returns.
A pause.
“Bakura? The hell are you doing here at midnight?”
Bakura is silent for a moment, and then: “Do you like shrimp?”
No one's seen Bakura Ryou in person in months, the only proof of life being a few scattered texts. Until he randomly shows up at Jounouchi's apartment, in the dead of night, carrying a plastic bag full of shrimp. Jounouchi had never expected to be selected as the bridge between Bakura and what seems like the rest of human society, but he's not complaining: being adopted by a very polite feral cat is an honour of the highest magnitude, and Jounouchi intends to try his best.

In the midst of a number of life changes, Yuugi visits a city he hasn't been to since childhood. It's not exactly a coincidence that he runs into Ryou Bakura while he's there, but considering that they haven't seen each other in years, but when Ryou invites him over for dinner, Yuugi can't help but feel that this evening was meant to be.
Ryou put his elbows on the table, hands loosely folded around his glass. “Maybe to you,” he said, “It feels good, being with people you can share your memories with.”

Summary
It was inevitable. Inevitable that Yugi would fall in love with Atem, the spirit he shared his very mind and body with. It was inevitable that he would one day have to fulfil his duty. The duty of helping the Pharaoh restore his memories, to end the 3000 year struggle. To face Atem in the ceremonial duel.
The story continues, but an unforeseen consequence of the ceremonial duel has a profound affect on Yugi's soul. Something that neither Yugi or Atem could have predicted. Yugi is left to try and pick up the pieces, to rebuild himself in the aftermath. Atem is left with a dilemma, knowing that his choices will lead to lasting consequences for both of them. Those choices will extend beyond solely themselves, with an unforeseen equation coming into the fray, complicating everything for Yugi.
