Summary
"Hey, kid." The stranger's voice was low, barely audible over the storm.
Zanka stared dumbly, unable to form a coherent reply. What a strange way to approach the situation. The man didn't even look at him, squinting into the rain instead.
"Need some help getting back over those bars?"
The question confused Zanka. It was obvious what he was doing. This guy couldn't be that thick.
After a long pause, Zanka shook his head and cast his gaze downwards again, "Naw. I ain't ever comin' back over."
"Oh… Okay. Well, if you don't mind, I'll just catch my breath here for a minute."
Had he run over upon seeing Zanka dangling off the edge? He'd only heard one person rush by on a bike since he'd crawled over. The man didn't sound winded. Didn't even sound panicked. There wasn't a single indication that he was afraid for Zanka's life. Which was fair. Even the people who were meant to give a shit about him didn't.

Zanka awakens in horror one night to the sound of Jabber’s voice in his choker.
“Zankaaa. I got some new poisons. Real fuckin’ nasty. You wanna feel em inside you, don’t you? Yeahhh, you do. I wanna see you twitchin’ again. Tryin’ to move. Knowing you can’t.”
“What the hell are you talking about?”
Tap. Tap.
Zanka freezes, holding his breath. He can’t bring himself to turn around.
“Zanka,” Jabber breathes. “Check your window.”
