"I'll keep you updated. In the meantime, go back to sleep. When you need to worry, I'll tell you."

"Heh." Ryland ran his hand down his face. "It's terrible you know that it actually makes me feel better. What would I do without you?"

"Explode at a colleague at a conference and get expelled from academia and become a middle school teacher." Eva said, promptly.

"Wow, you've thought about that way too hard." Ryland laughed. "Middle schoolers might not vape in class, though. Maybe I should switch."

    "Let's not joke."

    Summary

I lived with this hunger long before the Hail Mary. This is nothing new. I’m fine.

Right up until Rocky asks another question.

“When last time you touch other human person skin, question?”

Oh. Oh no. “When I… a few days after I first woke up here.”

Rocky starts to relax for a split second, but then tightens when something occurs to him.

“Grace crewmates dead when you wake up. You said this, statement. You not even know your own name, remember nothing, see dead bodies, confirm?”

I nod, because if I open my mouth I will gag.

“When last time Grace touch ALIVE human person, question.”

I swallow thickly. I don’t answer aloud because I know Rocky can hear the hitch in my breath. My stomach churns with fresh bile. He senses my vital signs tick over into stress patterns and goes very, very still again.

    “Grace. When last time, question.”

I clench my jaw so hard my temples ache, and beg him with my eyes to just stop.

“Grace. Please say not when… when Evil Stratt humans put you to sleep.”

    I can taste grass.

    Summary

Wild had a terrible awful no good bad day when he meets the Chain stuck wearing the Ancient Hero’s Aspect.

How is he supposed to explain that he isn’t always a giant cat-boi? Who will be the better cuddler, him or Wolfie? Will Flora ever stop laughing at his predicament?

Pure fluff and crack taken seriously. Have fun and let me know any suggestions!

    Excerpt from chapter 2:

"I never did get your name," Bruce said suddenly. That felt like a red flag, but Hades hadn't warned him against this mortal. If anything happened, he still had his dagger on him and he could probably manage to shadow travel far enough away if he had to. For now, he would just wait to see what was going to happen.

I read this years ago and got so upset when it stopped updating. Alas. But it popped up in a search so I decided to reread :)

    Summary

The Heroes of Courage are spread across ages. Hundreds to thousands of years between them. It should come as no surprise that they are having some trouble communicating. But when they’re dropped in a world of alien technology and a language wholly unfamiliar, they really wish Hylia had thought ahead.

A series focused on portraying a semi-realistic depiction of Wild actually being from 10,000 years in the future.
