Summary
"Y'know, I was going to kill myself that night."
The silence that stretched between them was deafening.
"What are you talking about?" the reply came, a breathed out little thing, and the way the flame user spoke felt wrong.
"That night. About two months ago." Robert began, his tone way too casual for this conversation, but he pressed on. "When you came up to me in my car?" he saw Flambae give the most subtle nod out of the corner of his eye, urging him to continue. Robert didn't turn to face him, instead keeping on watching the middle distance from the balcony. A few specs of ember dropped from his lit cigarette, hanging nestled between his fingers and long forgotten with ash lining the tip in a dangerous column, threatening to break off and fall any minute.
"I had every intention to die that night." Despite the weight of his words, the corners of his eyes crinkled as his gaze caught the first rays of sunshine peeking between the buildings, the sky's hue ever so slowly shifting to a navy blue, a promise of a brighter color come morning.
OR,
Robert buys a car, gets in his head about it, is then saved by Mr. Wet Ponytail.
