“Take your time to think things over, and please, let me know if you’d like to see any of our other available properties,” Erik says, his gaze dropping to the pavement. He absentmindedly kicks a pebble with his foot, which, at this point, he may as well put in his mouth. “But if you’d rather go in a different direction, I understand completely.”
Charles puffs out a laugh, and when Erik lifts his head, there’s a glimmer in his eyes, a mirthful look on his face he can’t quite place. “On the contrary. I’ll take it.”
OR: Erik is a grumpy real estate agent who's been (poorly) dealing with his mother's death. Charles is a former Fortune 500 CEO-turned-at-home baker with some problems of his own. Naturally, they fall in love.
