The figure in the mirror next to Geralt is no body that Jaskier recognizes. Where Jaskier expected to find smooth, supple skin, coiffed brunet waves, and deep blue eyes, he finds eyes greyed by time, white, thinned tresses, and all manner of sag and wrinkle. As he lifts his arm to get a better look at pale arms webbed in blue and sun-spotted where he expected to find a simple, light tan, everything clicks into place. This is Jaskier. This is him. This is not a few days after Jaskier moved into Kaer Morhen to be with his wolf. This is decades since. He is not about to live his life next to his love, he already has lived it to the utmost.
