Akito’s gaze flickered down to the mirror, meaning to just give it one simple look, but what he was met with in his reflection made him stop.
It was him. Undeniably him—the same orange hair, the same yellow streak, the same olive green eyes. Except something sat atop his head that wasn’t there before; that Akito didn’t remember if humans could have the ability to procure.
Leaning down to get a better look, Akito’s lips parted as his jaw dropped when one of the flopped dog ears gave a twitch, the matching ginger fur ruffling in the wind.

After a Vivid BAD Squad practice, Akito drinks one of the two water bottles in Toya's bag, not knowing one was secretly a potion that Rui had given him. When they go to confront Rui about what it was that he gave Toya, Akito transforms into a dog, and develops a strange attachment to his loud, annoyingly eccentric senior.

Rui created a machine that was meant to swap the colors of Tsukasa and Akito’s hair, but something malfunctioned. Now Tsukasa and Akito’s hands have fused, and they're forced to spend the weekend stuck together while they wait for Rui to reverse his mistake. Chaos ensues.

Summary
Akito could practically hear him now, exclaiming excitedly how he had gotten his first secret admirer. Tsukasa’s confident laugh and loud, boisterous voice were clear in Akito’s ears, and he could feel the smug smirk forming on his face already.
It was going to be so satisfying watching Tsukasa and his friends scramble to figure out who the sender of the mysterious letters were. Nobody would ever expect Akito.

Akito can't handle silence any longer. His own feelings were eating him alive, rendering him practically useless. Offered advice from MEIKO, he begins anonymously placing love letters, and maybe even gifts, in Tsukasa's locker as a way to release his thoughts. Some would describe Akito as a "secret admirer".

Then, Akito made a connection in his brain. He looked between his own blue covered shirt, to Tsukasa’s red covered shirt, and he smirked at the jokes his mind automatically thought of. Unfortunately, Akito never did have much of a filter, and he seemed to forget who exactly he was sitting next to. He let out a chuckle, and Tsukasa looked over at him.
“Hey, your face is red, mine is blue.”
Akito looked up at Tsukasa, who was slightly confused. Tsukasa nodded, wondering where Akito was going with this.
“Wanna make purple?”

Kamiyama High has another festival! This time there's a color run; Akito ends up on the red team and Tsukasa on the blue team. What color does red and blue make? They find out eventually, as it ends up on their faces.

Akito doesn't mean to fall for Tsukasa Tenma. It happens anyway, the way most inconvenient things do — gradually, then all at once, and at the absolute worst possible moment.
The worst possible moment, specifically, being the exact second he realizes he might not be the only one. A love triangle in which nobody is wrong, nobody is the villain, and everybody is going to need a while to figure out where they actually stand.

They were in the schoolyard, having lunch and Tsukasa came to him suddenly asking for help.
Him, out of all people.
In short, they go fake dating and catch feelings with (probably) a sprinkle of angst.
