Summary
For a fleeting moment he felt pathetic, like a frightened kitten trying to trick a predator into thinking it was bigger than it actually was by puffing up its fur. But then, something shifted inside of him. He looked imposing, powerful, even—like he was capable of exacting pain. And, most importantly, he looked unfamiliar in the most wonderful way. Not like needle-necked forensic accountant Edward Nashton, but someone else. Something else. Something better.

Summary
A part of Ed is nervous about returning to the diner again. Apprehensive of ruining whatever softness the two of you had cultivated the last time. The memory was stored fondly, nestled between his ribcage and within his fluttering heart. He wanted to keep it safe, perfectly preserved in this idealistic memory that neither you nor he could splinter into thousands of minuscule pieces. It was safer to stay within his tiny apartment, to lie in bed staring at the ceiling thinking of you.

Summary
The shift in position put you in his lap, and you could feel something hard press against you. “...Are you carrying a gun?”
“No.” The Riddler gave you a dazed smile. “What do wood, steel, and I all have in common?” he asked dreamily.
“I don’t…” You flushed, a whole litany of emotions welling up in you and making you drop him. “You’ve got to be fucking kidding me.”
You go to the Riddler for information and get a whole lot more than you bargained for.
