Obi-Wan narrowed his eyes. "Who are you?" He asked, hoping a direct question would yield answers. The old man seemed adept at side-stepping information when asked a bit more deftly. “I’ve never heard of a Master with your level of talent.”
The old man seemed surprised. “If you’ve never heard of one like me, then what good would my name be? You wouldn’t know it.”
Obi-Wan felt a flare of irritation, and quickly squashed it. The old man blinked, as if he hadn’t expected to feel that, and he smiled, sadly. “My name is Luke,” he said, as if a peace offering.
The force trilled in his ear, and Obi-Wan frowned. "Luke what?" He asked, and the old man, this Luke, smiled wryly.
"Luke Skywalker.”

Ben could only sigh and raise a distasteful eyebrow at the cross shaped, red lightsaber he was given. Down the line other students were also handling their new weapons and robes with a raised eyebrow here and quizzical expression there.
"Really, uncle?"
"Really. I don't want to compete with the local Jedi population."

Summary
Luffy’s been here before. He’s done this before. Sailed the Grand Line, become the Pirate King, made friends, saved nations, started and ended wars. All while being a pirate. Free, chasing his dreams. Answering to no one but himself.
And it’s been fun. Really, really fun, and he’s loved every second of it and he wouldn’t trade it for the world… But everything gets boring after a while. Even the joy of becoming the Pirate King has worn thin. He’s been a pirate in all of his 1,051 lives, maybe... it’s time to try something new.

A Luffy is a Marine AU because he’s lived through his life so many times that he’s bored of being a pirate and decides why not? It’ll be fine….. Right?
