There's cash in front of him, a briefcase full of it, to be more precise. There are also documents strewn over the table, containing all the proof needed to make it easier for Deadpool to accept the contract. There's also a photograph and a name: Peter Parker.
Or: Deadpool's hired to kill Peter Parker, former CEO of the now bankrupt Parker Industries, and Wade decides he better ask his trusted superhero crush Spider-Man—and Parker's former bodyguard—if his ex-boss really deserves a katana to the chest.
Things are much more complicated.
Spider-Man wanted to say something and make sure that corny line wouldn’t be the last one he heard, but his whole body felt like a bruise being pressed down. The man was opening his mouth to let out something evil and abnormally personal against Spider-Man, when a voice came down the dark alley.
“But the record keeps playing the same old song.” Spider-Man and the bad guy turned their heads to the mouth of the alley. They couldn’t see anyone, but the male voice sang on. “They say aha, aha. Keep your hands off my girl.”
Peter’s head thumped against the wall. “No. Just… no. Do me a favor, just crush my windpipe."

Summary
Almost a year has passed since the disaster that were the Sokovia Accords and the Avengers broke up. Tony is dealing with the fallout, trying to bring the former Avengers back, knowing Earth is going to need all of them when sooner or later the battle of New York repeats itself.
Now there’s an alien spaceship in his backyard and Tony regrets not taking that nap F.R.I.D.A.Y. suggested.
‘‘You may know us,’’ says Quill with a smug smirk playing on his face and standing tall. Tony can almost hear a drum roll. ‘‘We’re the Guardians of the Galaxy.’’
There’s so much confidence and pride in his voice that Tony almost feels sorry for what he’s about to say.
‘‘Never heard of you.’’
Out of the five Guardians, Quill is the only one who looks disappointed, like he was expecting to be received with confetti and a red carpet.
‘‘Told you,’’ Gamora says and Rocket snickers showing his sharp teeth.

Dennis bit the quick of his thumbnail, nibbling until he drags the skin to a hangnail. Until his tongue blooms with the taste of salty copper. He stops briefly, pulls away to inspect his thumb before ripping off the piece of skin once and for all. A piercing cry snaps his attention and his heart lurches forward, body moving on autopilot. Still, he's drowning.
_ _ _Dennis is a single dad and no one in the Pitt knows. Actually, no one knows he (and his daughter) are unhoused either. That all changes when his baby gets sick and only gets worse, forcing him to show up in the ED distraught.

Summary
Dennis had been more than happy pretending to be a Beta. Patches were expensive, and he always felt bad when he slipped a few from the hospital supply. But the momentary guilt and a rash or two were a small price to pay to avoid being an anomaly among his peers. The fact that he got away with the deception for so long was a miracle in and of itself. It was only a matter of time before something like a massive patch recall managed to throw a giant wrench and an inconveniently timed flash heat in Dennis' life.
With nowhere to go and no idea what to do, Dennis was forced to accept Dr. Robby and Dr. Abbot's kind offer to wait out his heat in their spare room. And hope that the massive crush he had on the two Alphas didn't make a mess of everything.
