Summary
All of Max's life fit more than comfortably in one duffle bag which was presently slung over his shoulder. There he was, standing awkwardly outside of Richie’s apartment building, smoking a cigarette and waiting for the man to come down to the lobby to meet him. He could've waited inside but he'd just felt so out of place it made his skin crawl. So, he just resorted to his tried and true fallback plan for escaping situations like that.

After Max’s attempt and beyond unexpected reunion with Richie, he doesn’t have much of a choice about moving in with his past victim. All he wants to do is lay down and die, give up and let the guilt swallow him whole, but he can’t. For some reason, Richie wants him to live; Max owes it to him to at least try.
Max doesn’t believe he can.
Even if he’s wrong, even if he can turn his life around, does he deserve that second chance?

Summary
Will always thought of life as a tether, that begins as an umbilical cord and ends when all of the energy borrowed from the womb is released back into the world. But he is beginning to wonder if it is not the only cord we are bound too. Perhaps, whether it be by some cruel twist of fate or something beyond that, he seems to be tied down to another life force outside of his own.
Or in other words: Will is exhausted and ready to quit everything. What this entails, he is unsure of. He just knows that he is at the end of his rope, both mentally and physically. In a strange turn of events, he finds that perhaps he should hang on just a little bit longer.
AU that starts briefly after season 1 episode 2, Amuse-Bouche.
