Marcus's voice cracks, and she has to turn away from Semmelweis to quickly wipe her eyes. "I…I'm glad I could talk to you about Madam Hofmann…thank you. I'll be - fine, I promise - "
"You don't have to be fine just yet," Semmelweis says quietly. "Everyone grieves at their own pace. It took me years to come to terms with………"
She trails off, and ends the sentence there. Marcus burns with curiosity, but this isn't the time or place to push - instead, she curls into Semmelweis's warmth and closes her eyes.
"Thank you," she says again, and that's the last thing she remembers before she drifts off.

At Tracen, Vodka and Daiwa Scarlet are known for the same things they’ve always been known for: losing to each other by inches, fighting over everything, and making the rest of Team Spica want to lock them in separate rooms until they learn how to act normal. But off the track, rivalry gets harder to name.
The problem is that wanting to win is simple. Wanting each other is not.
